The Anatomy of a Tack Button: Swivel vs. Fixed Caps

As a manufacturer, our jeans buttons are categorized into two distinct structural types: Swivel Caps and Fixed Caps.

1. Swivel Buttons (Moveable Caps)
The most common type of jeans button features a button head that can tilt or rotate slightly, making it easier to align with the buttonhole. Additionally, it can accommodate fabrics of varying thicknesses.

2.Fixed Buttons (Rigid Caps)

A Fixed button is exactly what it sounds like-the head is stationary and rigid. Once installed, it does not move or tilt. From a manufacturing perspective, fixed buttons often have a lower profile (sit closer to the fabric), which is ideal for minimalist designs.

How Fabric Weight (oz) Influences Your Size Choice

While the "size" usually refers to the face of the button, the "fit" is determined by how the button interacts with the fabric's thickness.
By matching your customized tack lengths to your specific fabric weight, you ensure a "factory-firm" finish that lasts the lifetime of the garment.
